Artisan Stucco Aged Lime Putty
Artisan Stucco aged lime putty is a high-performance mineral binder composed exclusively of 100% calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), derived from carefully selected limestone. Its production process combines traditional craftsmanship with technical precision, ensuring durability and a sustainable, long-lasting finish.
From Stone to Binder
The process begins with high-purity limestone, which is transformed into quicklime through carefully controlled heating. The exceptional quality of the raw stone results in a binder designed to stand the test of time, providing a reliable foundation for a wide range of applications.
The Art of Aging
Once slaked into a smooth, creamy putty, the material undergoes a carefully controlled aging process. During this period, its microscopic structure continues to refine, enhancing flexibility, vapour permeability, and mechanical strength. The result is a material that is both highly workable and exceptionally durable.
A Return to Stone
When applied, the lime putty gradually reabsorbs CO₂ from the air, slowly transforming back into its original limestone form. This natural carbonisation process creates a self-healing, timeless finish—chemically identical to stone, yet shaped by hand.
Polarizing Light
The pure mineral in the lime putty produces a light polarisation, creating a soft, unique luminous depth. This optical phenomenon not only enhances the visual quality of surfaces but also minimizes heat absorption in the substrate, ensuring a cooler, more stable environment. The result is a finish that transforms light naturally, evolving with the day.
